Waist Line 2004
Modified “lazy Susan” bearing, video camera, electronics, assorted hardware
Thanks to:
Waist Line is a custom manufactured device that was created to record panoramic video images. This device was designed to be worn at waist level. Incorporated into the design is a wide angle lens video camera. The camera is mechanically driven around the performer’s diameter. As the performer and the camera are set in motion, the camera simultaneously captures both a linear and circular perspective that otherwise could not be observed in real-time by the individual wearing the device.
Exhibition History:
2004 Waist Line was produced for the online exhibition MOBILE LOG.CA, A Visual & Media Arts Celebration in the city of Guelph, Ontario. The exhibition was curated by Susan Douglas.
